The Pink Hotel – Gold Coast

What better way to celebrate your wedding anniversary then a mini vacay in Coolangatta. We choose The Pink Hotel because;

We wanted to stay somewhere we’d never been before,

We wanted to support a locally owned and operated business and

We wanted to find out ourselves if all the hype we’d read about this property was true.

Big tick on all 3!

Formally the Coolangatta Ocean View hotel, this property has seen its share of owners over the years and if the walls could speak would tell some incredible yarns for sure. In 2018 after a full renovation this 1950’s style boutique hotel was once again open for bookings. As you drive up Marine Parade one cannot help but be distracted by the gorgeous cotton candy pink coloured walls of this majestic lady. This property is one of the most Instagrammed locations on the Gold Coast!

The room interiors are hip retro meets scandi chic style décor. There are 17 rooms all individually decorated. Our room has an ole school record player and several albums, not singles so assume they are 33’s. That’s old people speak for the RPM – revolutions per minute, how fast the record spins on the turntable. I love the artwork in each room and it’s like the amazing team at The Pink Hotel knew instinctively which room to allocate for me as you’ll see from my photo I am really digging that Hendrix and I have the same hairdo. We took a King suite and loved the thoughtfulness of the amount of space, the décor and layout of our room. Had a lovely view from the bedroom in the morning looking out from our window of the ocean.

We also enjoyed the amazing sunset views of Coolangatta looking back up to Surfers Paradise from Santeria Rooftop. Available for guests only and being Sunday, it was a wonderful and quiet space to chill out in on one of the great daybeds and give gratitude for what we have.

For meals we booked dinner at Baask Italian which was just a short walk away and enjoyed a light breaky from the café underneath the Greenmount Surf Club. Coffee there was awesome! We both decided we will come back and stay again so we can experience Eddie’s Grub House for burgers in the bar, which are touted as the “Best hamburger restaurant on the Goldy” and also offering live music as well plus enjoy a sneaky cocktail in the Janitor’s Closet, a hidden speakeasy piano bar.
