WOW! This 4 Star Hotel on the Gold Coast certainly punches well above it’s star rating weight that’s for sure. Conveniently located in Broadbeach, considered the GC’s halfway point Dorsett Gold Coast sits proudly in Darling Avenue, directly across the road from a major transport hub (buses & trams), Pacific Fair Shopping Centre and the Ocean a mere 2 blocks walk.
313 rooms in total, the property has only been open since late Dec 2021 so a relative newcomer to the GC accommodation scene and Australia’s first Dorsett. Dorsett Hospitality International’s expansion from Asia into Australia will see other Dorsett Hotels currently under construction open in Brisbane and Perth. The Melbourne hotel opened in April this year.
From incorporating local pieces of art and design into the décor (check out the amazing light installation in the lobby) to the cute boxes of handmade chocolate by Little Cocoa shows thoughtfulness and inclusivity in engaging with local community to showcase their talent and products in a way not seen by other Gold Coast hotels.
The room I stayed in had a comfy king bed and a fab view, highlighted at night when the city skyline lit up. Jin Café & Bar offers wonderful coffee and pasties plus also creates some amazing cocktails. For breakfast I opted for the Executive Lounge for a bespoke buffet breakfast. Unfortunately, I ran out of time to enjoy Isoletto Pool Club so will have to just make another booking and return but it looked amazing from my 18th floor view.
Broadbeach has a plethora of great dining options as well on offer and an abundance of nightlife to enjoy at your doorstep. Really loved my dinner at Uncle Su, located a short 3-minute walk from Dorsett in The Star precinct. Uncle Su specialises in Cantonese cuisine and offers a GF menu. The meal was delish!
The staff at the hotel were all welcoming and genuinely friendly. Talk about luxurious stay without the 5-star prices.
