I have always enjoyed going to every new show that Australian Outback Spectacular brings out. This new one Heartland is no exception. If you have never been before, this is not your usual Dinner & Show experience.
Pre purchasing your tickets is a must! We had General Admission Tickets however check out the website for other additional amazing packages. Arrive early and queue to enter (which is seamless) where welcoming staff will also provide each guest with a fantastic straw country hat to wear during the evening (great to wear for gardening or fishing later, yes you can keep this!)
Step through the cattle station doors, stop for a photo opp (additional cost) then enjoy browsing in the awesome gift store, I also recommend taking a selfie with one of the gorgeous horses in Bazza’s Bar! Live music with classic Australian tunes can be enjoyed in Bazza’s Bar before the show commences. You can purchase a coldie from the bar (additional cost) and then just enjoy the ambiance of the pre dinner show. The evening we attended, staff were also on hand to take your photo with a cutest Sheep Dogs you have ever seen (additional cost).
You are then invited into the arena and seating is very efficient. The lights dim and the show commences. Heartland uses immersive technology to take guests into the Australian country and introduces you to a local farming family who like most Aussie farmers are battling drought, putting food on the table, paying their staff and keeping the bank at bay but through their courage and willingness to accept a hand with help from their local community the family overcome the harsh realities of life on the land. All the while you are being waited on by a team of incredibly fast staff serving you a 3-course meal and topping up your beverages at regular intervals. When you purchase your ticket you then have the option to choose either a beef, chicken or veg meal.
This interactive show is highly entertaining, funny and some parts really made me reflect on just how much our farming communities do for us so ensure we get fresh fruit, veg, dairy and other produce but also made me feel very thankful that our country is blessed to have these wonderful people undertaking these job/roles as well. I thought the show brought out the best in Australian mateship.
I left feeling full in heart and tummy.
